We are building world beating software with beautiful user interaction design right here in New Zealand, and we want to share how we are doing it.
Philip Feirlinger Xero’s lead designer is going to share his practical design methodology and the approach the team are taking as they apply their design magic to the new WorkflowMax interface design, which all going swimmingly well we should start to see the fruits of the team's labour in the first half of 2013.
Philip's workshop titled "Fake it Till You Make it" asks the question "How do you go from a brilliant idea to a product on the market?" First, you fake it. Bring your concept to life quickly and cheaply. Rapid prototyping is the perfect way to design and pitch your app. This workshop presents a range of realworld prototypes, created for startups and major brands, covering a variety of different methods. The workshop provides hands-on lessons for building rapid prototypes. Whether your product will be built in HTML, Xcode or any other technology, you’ll learn how to quickly create convincing prototypes using Flash (no experience in Flash necessary). Flash prototyping is a very simple yet extremely powerful technique that combines the best of paper prototyping, wireframes and HTML prototyping. The method you'll learn dramatically increases the speed and agility of the design and development cycle, while decreasing documentation to almost zero.
Complementing Philip, Adobe will be introducing their creative cloud licensing model and the perks, while Daniel from BYOL will be sharing some tricks and tips around the business use of Adobe cloud services from sharing files with clients, distributing media, managing assets and new revenue opportunities.
