Welcome to Humans of WorkflowMax! Occasionally we like to feature one of our awesome team members. We’ll talk a bit about what they do, their passions, some fascinating facts, and what makes them tick.

We’d like to introduce you to Millie, WorkflowMax Global Marketing Manager based in Victoria, Australia. We had a chat to her about life in and out of WorkflowMax.

Tell us about your role

I'm the global marketing manager at WorkflowMax. I really enjoy getting to know our customers and sharing their stories of success and business growth with our community. I love to see how our product helps busy people to steal back precious time to work on what really matters in their lives. Because at the end of the day we don’t want to be working 24/7 do we!

Why did you join WorkflowMax?

I worked at one of the Big 4 for a long time in the fast growing / private business space so was surrounded by go-getters, entrepreneurs and leading tech companies. That’s where I came across Xero. Always inspired by the little Kiwi company with global aspirations, I featured Rod Drury and Xero in one of my campaigns. Through that process I got to look under the hood to understand what the company was all about, what they valued and how they operated. Then I arranged for Vic Crone (NZ CEO at the time) to be on a panel and she had me from the moment she started talking about “PURPOSE” (that was back in the day where purpose was the new buzz word). Now, PURPOSE, is one of the most important parts of building an enduring and engaged business. And ever since that day, I always thought our paths would cross again. So when a colleague suggested I join her team at Xero/WorkflowMax, I jumped at the chance.

What’s working at WorkflowMax like?

The green machine (as we call it) are a small nibble team with big aspirations. We're keen to WOW our customers in every interaction, so it can be a bit of a juggle. There’s not enough time in the day to achieve everything we want to - but that’s also one of the reasons I signed up for the job. There’s a strong focus every day to deliver a better experience for our customers and our people.

Tell us something #human about yourself

Other than being a mum to two gorgeous small humans, I have another passion other than software! Sorry. On the side, I moonlight as a floral designer recently kicking off a small business of my own called The Bloomery&co.

We live, breathe and even grow our own flowers with the sole purpose of making others lives happier in the making. It’s actually amazing how therapeutic it is to work with flowers. It’s my side passion project and we’re in the process of developing some wellness workshops and flower meditation sessions in our local community. Small steps, but lots of fun learning - and yes, I use WorkflowMax to plan out our projects - haha.

Do you have any advice to share with the readers of this blog?

Take the time to stop for a moment - like I have done here (it's actually quite hard to write about yourself!) Close your eyes, take ten deep breaths, roll your head slowly from side to side. Open your eyes and be grateful! You’re still here and ready to live your best life.
