Humans of WorfklowMax - Meet Maria

Welcome to Humans of WorkflowMax! Occasionally we like to feature one of our awesome team members. We’ll talk a bit about what they do, their passions, some fascinating facts, and what makes them tick.

Tell us about your role!

I help people to understand whether WorkflowMax is the right product for their business. I work with potential customers to see how introducing the product would impact their workflow and give product demos to help them make up their mind about WorkflowMax. 

Our product is really versatile and customisable, and I really enjoy learning about our customers’ businesses and consulting with them to find the best way of making it work for them.

Part of my role is also collaborating with Xero account managers and our implementation partners to make sure that our customers are set up for success, as well as identifying new companies that might be a suitable fit for the product.

Why did you join WorkflowMax?

I joined WorkflowMax because I love the world of software services and have always admired Xero for its values and mission.

Since my early career as an accountant, I always dreamed of working for Xero 'one day', so when I saw the role become available I decided to try my luck!

What’s working at WorkflowMax like?

In one word: amazing!

Every day is different. I love the flexibility that the company gives us and the company culture. Being part of a global team, sometimes we have early morning or late afternoon meetings, but everyone is really understanding about the fact that we have a life outside work.

Everyone is very #human: no matter if they're junior or senior, anyone is happy to give a hand. I feel surrounded by very smart and talented people, and I can learn something from everybody.

Everyone is friendly, and I feel I can be my true self at work because I have been hired for what I am and not for what I need to be on paper.

 My colleagues have become my really good friends, which I think is priceless.

Tell us something #human about yourself 

I am a really active person and I love exercise - in my spare time I teach at the gym as a fitness instructor. I love pushing people to become the best version of themselves and giving my small contribution to make the world healthier.

I also love Latin dance, especially salsa and bachata, and I never miss an occasion to get down on the dance floor!
